Bondi meets Barangaroo
In January, Taste Tuesdays kicked off their first event of the year with a seafood inspired evening, bringing Bondi to Barangaroo with a never seen before collab between the Head Chefs of Bea and North Bondi Fish. Taste Tuesdays, brought to you by the Taste of Sydney collective, are a series of in-venue restaurant experiences taking place in cities across the globe.
The first event of 2019 was held at Barangaroo House, in the beautiful surrounds of Bea Restaurant. Bea Head Chef invited chef Jesse McTavish of North Bondi Fish into his kitchen to cook a seafood inspired dinner, starring some of Australia's best seafood, bringing together the two waterfront dining establishments in a special, one-off event. John Sussman of Fishtales also joined the evening to talk about Australian seafood and sustainability in the industry.
The evening featured a Tanqueray Elderflower Collins to start off the evening, paired with a seafood snack bar featuring Sydney Rock oysters, Yarra Valley caviar and raw Mount Cook alpine salmon with condiments. Guests then enjoyed a series of seafood dishes, presented innovatively and designed to eat with your hands. A live swing band set the soundtrack to the evening as our Chefs took the time to mingle with guests, speaking to the dishes and products featured, and the importance of sustainability in the food industry.
To finish off the evening, our star chefs created a bespoke DIY dessert station like no other , which was paired with a Johnnie Black barrel aged digestif. Taste Tuesdays - Bondi meets Barangaroo was a fine example of the intimate and innovative events that are on offer at Barangaroo House.
